In Charlevoix, about 90 km from Québec City as the crow flies, Baie-Saint-Paul hosts a Christmas market organized by Le Festif! Every year, according to the organizers, it turns "the heart of the neighbourhood" into a fairy-tale village as the lights come on and the first snowflakes fall, with illuminated stalls, local finds, shows and family activities.

Le Festif! promises the scents of fir, mulled wine and gingerbread. For you, it's mostly a chance to do some of your holiday shopping as you wander from stall to stall, and to chat with the exhibitors.

Up to 50 exhibitors under the lights

For the 2026 edition, Le Festif! is selecting up to 50 exhibitors in the following categories: drinks, games and toys, home, food, personal care and textiles. The call for applications runs from August 31 to October 31, 2026, or until spaces are filled, and the list of exhibitors had not yet been published in mid-October. Sortir au Québec, for its part, mentions more than 40 exhibitors from the arts, crafts, culture, agri-food and business sectors.

The 2026 holiday season: dates and hours

Le Festif! announces the market from November 27 to 29 and from December 4 to 6. Its website doesn't show the year next to these dates, but it does present the 2026 edition, and Sortir au Québec also places these two weekends in 2026, from Friday to Sunday. Opening hours and the program had not yet been published in mid-October: the "Programmation" section of the website still read "to come". The website also doesn't say whether admission is free. Confirm these details with Le Festif! before planning your outing.

According to Sortir au Québec, the market takes place on Rue Saint-Jean-Baptiste. The address shown on Le Festif!'s website (101-15, rue Ambroise-Fafard) is the organizer's, not necessarily the market's. To keep up with announcements, Le Festif! offers a newsletter, and the market has its own Facebook page.

Not to be confused with Baie-Saint-Paul's summer public market, held on the heritage site of the Petites Franciscaines de Marie (63, rue Ambroise-Fafard). According to the Association des marchés publics du Québec, its 2026 season ran from June 14 to October 11, on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with 32 to 40 stalls: fruits and vegetables, bread, meat, honey and maple syrup, among others.
