In Stoneham-et-Tewkesbury, in La Jacques-Cartier, the Christmas market returns in December for a 17th edition, announced on the municipality's website. It takes place over two weekends at Parc des Fondateurs, on the grounds of the Grange du Presbytère and the skating rink. The municipality promises a "magical and safe" setting to discover local artisans and producers.

Admission is free, according to Destination Québec cité. It's a great chance to do your holiday shopping with people from the area and to chat directly with those who make or grow what you're buying. Buying this way also keeps the local economy going: we talk about it in our article on the benefits of local markets.

Huts, a big tent and tastings

According to Destination Québec cité, exhibitors set up in small huts and under a big tent, on three sites, and a tasting is offered at the Grange du Presbytère. The same organization's Christmas market guide mentions more than 70 local artisans and producers, free shows, fireworks and a visit from Santa Claus. In mid-October, the municipality had not yet published the list of exhibitors or the detailed 2026 program, but exhibitor registration was closed.

The Grange du Presbytère, at 119, 1re Avenue, is a cultural venue managed by the municipality, which presents a community arts program there throughout the year. During the market, it's where the tasting announced by Destination Québec cité takes place.

The 2026 holiday season: dates and hours

The market is open Friday evening and all weekend: Fridays, December 4 and 11, 2026, from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Saturdays, December 5 and 12, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sundays, December 6 and 13, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. These hours are published by the municipality and repeated by Destination Québec cité. Since the stalls are set up outdoors, in huts and under a tent, bring a toque and mittens.
