In Wendake, the Rendez-vous des artisans et artistes de Wendake (RVAA) organizes a Christmas market that gives pride of place to Wendat culture and to that of the First Nations. The organization, founded and chaired by Sonia Gros-Louis, aims to offer "an artistic showcase of the First Nations of Quebec" and to raise awareness of their culture, traditions and know-how. It describes the market as an annual gathering of members of Quebec's First Nations.

Its mandate goes beyond shopping: the organization also works to fight racism and discrimination against First Nations and to encourage intercultural dialogue. Doing some of your holiday shopping here means directly supporting Indigenous artisans and artists, and taking the time to talk with them about what they create.

Beadwork, moccasins and dreamcatchers

The organization's website describes a wide range of creations: jewellery and accessories (beadwork, natural stones, porcupine quills), natural care products (essential oils, creams, incense), decorative and spiritual objects (talking sticks, dreamcatchers, traditional baskets), clothing and textiles (toques, moccasins, furs, weaving), artwork, stationery and food products such as chocolates, jams and spices. Destination Québec cité mentions about forty artisans and artists.

On the program, the organization announces demonstrations of traditional know-how, workshops for children, a tasting area and cultural programming, with details to be unveiled this fall. Destination Québec cité also mentions cultural performances and tastings of traditional dishes, and the organization mentions tales and legends. The 2026 spokesperson is Jason Picard-Binet, a member of the Huron-Wendat Nation and president and CEO of Bastien Industries, a company that has made and distributed moccasins and Indigenous crafts since 1972.
