Marché public de Rimouski at the Parc de la Gare: Bas-Saint-Laurent producers, every Saturday
Every Saturday from late May to late October, about thirty exhibitors from Rimouski and the Bas-Saint-Laurent set up in the stalls of the Parc de la Gare. The market also opens on a few winter Saturdays and held a holiday market in December 2025, but its 2026 dates have yet to be announced.

The Marché public de Rimouski takes place at the Parc de la Gare, in stalls set up at 2, rue Saint-Jean-Baptiste Est. It describes itself as a friendly, community gathering place, nicknamed “the church steps 2.0”: people come to shop, eat on site and run into friends.
According to the Association des marchés publics du Québec (AMPQ), about thirty exhibitors from Rimouski and the Bas-Saint-Laurent are there every week, at 25 to 35 stalls. The market itself has more than 70 member exhibitors. It’s a great chance to taste what the region produces, from the fields to the shoreline.
From vegetables to seaweed: what you’ll find
The 2026 list of exhibitors posted on the market’s website has 57 names. For fruit and vegetables, they include Bleuetière du Bas-St-Laurent, Estran (apples and pears), Vert Mouton (vegetables and sprouts), Les Jardins du Saroit and Perle Blanche (garlic). Livestock farmers offer lamb, pork, beef, duck, wild boar and even bison, and you’ll also find cheeses (Fromagerie du Littoral, Laiterie des Coteaux), deli meats and smoked fish.
For the pantry, there’s honey and mead, maple products, wine, herbes salées from the Bas-du-Fleuve, seaweed from Un Océan de Saveurs and forest and shoreline products from La Cabottine. Bakeries and pastry shops (bread, bagels, Moroccan pastries) and ready-to-eat counters, including Syrian cuisine and a café, round out the offering. To make room for these products in your everyday cooking, our tips for eating more local food are a good place to start.
Holiday season and winter: 2026 dates to be confirmed
As of October 15, 2026, the market had not announced a 2026 holiday market. In 2025, the AMPQ listing announced a Marché des Fêtes at the Parc de la Gare on Friday, December 12, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday, December 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with sweet and savoury discoveries. In case of extreme weather, the Friday was cancelled and the Saturday moved to the Sunday.
The market doesn’t shut down completely in winter. In 2025, the AMPQ announced winter markets from February 8 to March 8, on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with products also offered inside the train station so you could warm up. In 2026, the market’s website also listed three off-season Saturdays: February 28, March 28 and April 25. The dates for winter 2026-2027 had not been published by mid-October: keep an eye on the market’s Facebook page, where each week’s exhibitors are also announced.
Good to know: on site
According to the AMPQ listing, the site has a picnic area, washrooms and parking for cars and bikes, and public transit runs nearby. Pets are allowed, and most stalls accept debit and credit cards. During the regular season, the market also offers family programming on Saturdays: story time, music, tastings, workshops and even a corn roast in late summer 2026.
