The Marché de Noël de Joliette celebrates its 20th edition in 2026. For nearly a month, Place Bourget, downtown, becomes a holiday village: an artisans' village, a giant Christmas tree, illuminated canopies and a downtown aglow with lights.

Why go? To do your holiday shopping with nearly thirty artisans and local food producers, according to the official website, and to enjoy the downtown atmosphere with the family. The Association des marchés publics du Québec (AMPQ) listing mentions more than 30 vendors, including agri-food producers and processors.

A village of local artisans and producers

The 2026 vendor list isn't online yet, but the 2025 list gives a good idea of what's on offer. It included honey and mead from Miel Morand, wines from Vignoble Saint-Thomas and Vignoble Têtes au Vent, maple products from Cabane à sucre Constantin Grégoire, pretzels and breads from the Brezellerie, a German bakery in Saint-Jean-de-Matha, and herbal teas from Herboristerie Elola. La Gélinotte sucrée sold sweets made from forest plants, and the Centre d'amitié autochtone de Lanaudière offered Indigenous food and crafts.

For gifts, there were also soaps, candles, sheep's wool knits, alpaca wool products and items made of wood or glass. Enough to put together a holiday basket or fill the réveillon table: for the menu, get inspired by our traditional Quebec holiday recipes.

Holiday season 2026: November 26 to December 23

The market is open from Thursday, November 26 to Wednesday, December 23, 2026. Vendors are there Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. From Monday to Wednesday, they take a break, except in the last week: the market opens Monday, December 21, Tuesday, December 22 and Wednesday, December 23, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., for last-minute gifts.

According to the AMPQ, the program includes theme days, a "Noël des chiens" (Christmas for dogs) and a big Santa Claus parade. The dates of these activities haven't been published yet.

Good to know: getting downtown

The market's website offers directions from Montréal and Québec City, and points out that you can combine carpooling, bus, taxibus and cycling with the Embarque Lanaudière platform. The MRC de Joliette regional bus routes and the Grand Joliette urban routes also go downtown. The website doesn't give details on parking: call 450 753-7405 if you have questions.

The AMPQ listing links the Christmas market to the Société de développement du centre-ville de Joliette, which also runs the summer public market. In 2026, that market was held on Saturdays from June 6 to October 3, on Place Bourget.
