La Pocatière Christmas Market: local crafts and food at the Sainte-Anne cathedral
Every year, the Marché de Noël de La Pocatière brings 68 craft and food exhibitors to the Sainte-Anne cathedral, raising funds for the Fondation André-Côté. In 2026, it runs Saturday, November 28 and Sunday, November 29, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

In La Pocatière, in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region, the Christmas market takes place at the Sainte-Anne cathedral. For one weekend, artisans and food producers from the area set up to offer their creations and products. The Association des Marchés publics du Québec (AMPQ), Quebec’s public market association, describes it as a festive community event that brings people together and showcases local talent.
Why go? To do your holiday shopping directly from the people who make and grow things, and to support a local cause at the same time: the market is organized by the Knights of Columbus (Chevaliers de Colomb), council 5425 – Sainte-Anne, for the benefit of the Fondation André-Côté.
Crafts and local food: what you’ll find
According to the AMPQ, the market welcomes 68 exhibitors every year and draws nearly 1,200 visitors. The offering is split between crafts and food products: enough to find gifts made in the region and stock up your holiday table at the same time. The list of 2026 exhibitors had not been published by mid-October, so we can’t tell you yet who will be there.
A tip: bring your reusable bags, and plan your holiday menu before you go so you buy just what you need. If you’re looking for inspiration, our traditional Quebec holiday recipes will give you ideas for the réveillon.
Holiday season 2026: November 28 and 29
The 2026 edition takes place on Saturday, November 28 and Sunday, November 29, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. both days, at the Cathédrale de Sainte-Anne de La Pocatière. These dates and hours are published on the AMPQ listing. The market falls just before December: a good time to get a head start on your gifts.
The event is held in collaboration with Développement économique La Pocatière and the Ville de La Pocatière (the town). We did not find a website dedicated to the Christmas market: if in doubt (weather, a change in hours), the AMPQ listing is the page to check.
Good to know: a public market in summer too
On the AMPQ website, the Christmas market is listed with the Marché public de la Grande-Anse, La Pocatière’s summer public market. Founded in 2009 by two women producers, it is a collective project run by its participating producers and processors, with Développement économique La Pocatière acting as manager. In 2026, it was held on Saturdays from June 27 to September 26 in the ITAQ parking lot, at 401, 1re Rue Poiré.
The AMPQ describes a country setting along the trails of the Collège de Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatière mountain, with up to 14 producers, processors and artisans. Something to look forward to next summer. To learn why these short supply chains matter, read our article on the benefits of local markets.
