The Marché de Noël de L'Assomption was born in 2009. It sets up downtown, along Boulevard de l'Ange-Gardien, on the grounds of the Collège de l'Assomption. For 2026, the official website announces more than 65 artisans, producers and creators from the region and beyond, spread across outdoor CabaNoël cabins and, on weekends, two heated indoor areas.
The organization's mission is to celebrate the magic of the holidays by showcasing the know-how of the region's artisans, producers and businesses. Why go? To stock up on local products, find handmade gifts and enjoy mulled wine with music, all without paying admission.
What you'll find: CabaNoël cabins, local products and mulled wine
The vendor page on the official website, consulted in mid-October, lists about sixty names sorted by category: desserts and sweets, proteins, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, oils and seasonings, market garden produce, home and decor, jewellery, clothing and accessories. They include Charcuterie Bollée, Bergerie des Neiges, Cidrerie Lacroix, Vignoble Mondor, Ferme Cormier and Simon Turcotte Confiturier. This list may still change before opening day.
On weekends, a free program livens up the site: dance, music, singing and other performances for the whole family. If you want to prepare a réveillon with products from the region, take a look at our traditional Quebec holiday recipes.
Holiday season 2026: November 26 to December 21
The official website announces the 2026 edition from Thursday, November 26 to Monday, December 21, 2026. The outdoor area, on Boulevard de l'Ange-Gardien, is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from noon to 8 p.m., Sunday from noon to 5 p.m., and Monday, December 21 from noon to 5 p.m. The two indoor areas, at the Collège de l'Assomption and in the Cégep student café, open on weekends only: Saturday from noon to 8 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
The website's home page, currently being redesigned, says the 2026 edition will be unveiled on November 9: details should become clearer then. Leashed dogs are allowed in the outdoor area only.
Good to know: a market that measures its footprint
The market adopted a sustainable development policy in 2023 and publishes its results. In 2025, 1,269 reusable cups were washed and returned to the points of sale, or 21% of the cups used; the goal is 30% in 2026. The waste diversion rate was 22%, and the organization is aiming for 33%. It also says that 90% of its suppliers are located less than 40 km away.
The 2025 carbon footprint is telling: of 61.9 tonnes of CO2, 48.6 tonnes are attributed to visitors. The market also encourages people to come by carpool, public transit, on foot or by bike. It relies on 243 volunteers, who gave 2,641 hours in 2025, and ramps are to be installed in front of the raised CabaNoël cabins to make them easier to access.
