In Magog, the Marché public (public market) is first and foremost a summer gathering: every Sunday, from mid-May to mid-October, about thirty local producers and artisans set up at Plage des Cantons, with a view of Lake Memphremagog and Mont Orford. In December, the market makes a trip downtown for the Marché de Noël Magog Magique (Magog Magique Christmas market).
Why go? To find edible gifts and local products in the atmosphere of a festive day, and to support producers who sell through short supply chains, an idea at the heart of the market's project. Our article on the benefits of local markets explains what that choice really changes.
What you'll find at the Marché public de Magog
According to the Association des marchés publics du Québec (AMPQ, the Quebec public markets association), the market has 35 to 45 stalls, and the offering changes from week to week: the market's Facebook page announces who will be there. You'll find fruit and vegetables, meat and poultry, charcuterie, cheese, bread and pastries, honey and maple syrup, herbs and spices, jams and pickles, teas and coffees, prepared meals, flowers and plants, as well as products with flavours from elsewhere.
As of mid-October, neither the market's website nor its AMPQ listing specified which exhibitors will be at the Christmas market.
Holiday season 2026: Saturday, December 5
According to the AMPQ listing, the Marché de Noël Magog Magique takes place on Saturday, December 5, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Parc des Braves, during the Magog Magique day downtown. The market's website did not mention it yet in mid-October: check before you go, especially since the event lasts only one afternoon.
