In New Richmond, in the Gaspésie, the Christmas market is a tradition: that’s the very word the town uses to describe it. The event is part of Noël en Gaspésie, a holiday program running from November 21, 2026 to January 1, 2027, and exhibitor registrations go through the town’s recreation department.

Why go? Because the spots are reserved for local producers, artists and artisans: your Christmas shopping stays in the region, and you meet the people who make what you bring home.

The 2026 call for exhibitors is aimed at local producers, artists and artisans, and the town notes that spots are very limited. Each exhibitor gets an eight-foot table, and electricity and water are provided for producers. Processed products must meet the standards and permits of the MAPAQ, Quebec’s agriculture and food ministry, and tastings are allowed as long as they are declared to the organizing committee.

The list of exhibitors isn’t known yet: selection takes place the week of November 2, after a pre-registration period that ends on October 30. Holiday season 2026: December 5 and 6

The Ville de New Richmond announced the dates on October 13, 2026: the market takes place on Saturday, December 5, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, December 6, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Carrefour Baie-des-Chaleurs. It’s held indoors, so you’ll be sheltered from the December cold.

For reference, the 2025 edition took place on December 6 and 7, with the same hours, according to the AMPQ listing, which gave its address as 122, boulevard Perron Ouest.

Good to know: a public market in summer too

The rest of the year, the town runs a summer public market at Parc de la Pointe-Taylor, on Boulevard Perron Est. It takes place every Saturday from July to September, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and more than fifteen vendors come back year after year, depending on what’s available.
