Marché de Noël et des traditions in Longueuil: handicrafts in the heart of Vieux-Longueuil
Every year since 2007, Parc St. Mark in Vieux-Longueuil has turned into an artisans’ village, with pretzels fresh from the bread oven and demonstrations of traditional crafts. The organizer has not yet published the 2026 dates: here is what we know, and how the 2025 edition went.

Every year since 2007, as Christmas approaches, Parc St. Mark becomes an artisans' village in the heart of Vieux-Longueuil. The Marché de Noël et des traditions de Longueuil (Longueuil Christmas and traditions market) is organized by Métiers et Traditions, a non-profit founded in 1991 that aims to protect, pass on and showcase handicraft know-how from here and elsewhere. The organization is based in the old St. Mark presbytery, facing the park, and the City of Longueuil is the event's main partner.
Launched in 2007 and redesigned in 2018, the market held its 19th edition in 2025. What sets it apart from a simple gift market is the place given to traditional trades: you can watch artisans at work, and in 2025, visitors could even try their hand.
Artisans, pretzels and know-how: what you could find in 2025
In 2025, the organizer announced 124 creators, meaning more than a hundred artisans. Its website also mentioned an indoor Petit Marché with more than thirty creators, in the St. Mark community hall. There were handmade jewellery and accessories, care and wellness products, home decor and regional food products.
The Chalet-bar served warm pretzels baked in the bread oven, mulled wine and hot chocolate, and several exhibitors offered sweet or savoury treats. As for activities: wood sawing to make your own centrepiece, a holiday ornament engraving workshop, visits from Santa, music on the Chalet-bar stage, free screenings of NFB Christmas short films at the church, and a children's village with a small winter play area.
Holiday season 2026: dates still to be confirmed
As of October 15, 2026, Métiers et Traditions had not yet published the dates of the 2026 edition. Sortir au Québec lists approximate dates of November 27 to December 20, 2026: these are dates announced by Sortir au Québec, to be confirmed with the organizer.
To give you an idea, the 2025 edition ran from November 28 to December 21, four weekends in a row: Fridays from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Santa was there on Saturdays and Sundays, from noon to 6 p.m. Before planning your outing, check the organizer's page. Good to know: parking, washrooms and dogs
In 2025, the organizer recommended parking on nearby streets, a few minutes' walk from the park. Washrooms, including accessible ones, were at the Maison de la culture Marcel-Robidas, at 300, rue Saint-Charles Ouest, right next to the site. Dogs were allowed on a leash or in your arms, but the organizers suggested leaving them at home because of the crowds.
The market is also popular with artisans: demand to exhibit is so high that Métiers et Traditions has temporarily suspended applications.
