In the heart of Granby, the Marché public Granby et région (Granby and region public market) sets up every Saturday in the warm season at Place Johnson, under a permanent structure that shelters vendors and customers. It's a non-profit organization whose mission is to create a direct link between the public and the people who grow, process and make what you buy there. The market says it has been around for more than 19 years.

Why go? To stock up on fresh, local products through short supply chains, and to discover what the market calls the "signatures" of the Haute-Yamaska area. Every week, different activities and entertainment are added to the stalls. If you're looking for concrete ways to put more local food on your plate, our guide to eating more local food in Quebec can help.

From orchards to vineyards: what you'll find at the market

The market announces more than 30 artisans and producers, and the Association des marchés publics du Québec (AMPQ, the Quebec public markets association) counts 25 to 40 stalls. According to the AMPQ, you'll find fresh fruit and vegetables, meat and poultry, cheese and charcuterie, bread and pastries, honey and maple syrup, herbs and spices, jams and pickles, herbal teas, teas and coffees, prepared meals, flowers and plants, products with flavours from elsewhere, and alcoholic beverages.

The website's Exhibitors page features 55 businesses. Among them are Fromagerie des Cantons, Boulangerie le Banneton, Ferme d'apiculture Gibson, Mycep ferme de champignons, Verger Jean-Pierre Bisson, Érablière Familiale P. Bernier, Équinoxe – Ferme cidricole, Vignoble La Manse and PenséeFleur, a flower farm. The website also links to an online shop.

Holiday season: nothing announced for 2026

As of October 15, 2026, neither the market's website nor its AMPQ listing announced any activity for the 2026 holiday season. In 2025, the AMPQ listing featured the Rendez-vous agroalimentaires des Fêtes (holiday food gathering), held from December 5 to 7 at the Centre Notre-Dame in Granby: Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Keep an eye on the market's website and Facebook page to find out whether it returns this year.

In the meantime, the regular season continues until Saturday, November 7, 2026: a good opportunity to stock up on local products before winter. After that, our traditional Quebec holiday recipes will give you menu ideas.

According to the AMPQ, the site has a children's playground, a picnic area, washrooms, food stalls, parking, including for bikes, and an electric vehicle charging station. Pets are allowed, most stalls take Interac and credit cards, and public transit runs nearby.
