Thermo Exemple inc. installs heat pumps in homes, cottages and small buildings in the Eastern Townships and Montérégie. Our certified refrigeration technicians assess your home, work out the capacity you really need and suggest a unit that qualifies for LogisVert.
We handle everything: choosing the location, a clean installation, start-up, explanations and follow-up. After the installation, we come back for yearly maintenance, which keeps the unit efficient and the warranty valid.

Cold-climate wall-mounted heat pump
From $4,500 installed
A wall unit that heats a large room or an open area even in very cold weather, and cools in summer. We check its capacity at -8 °C in Hydro-Québec's list of eligible units before we suggest it.
Thermo Exemple inc. has been installing heat pumps in the Eastern Townships and Montérégie since 2011. We talked with its founder about cold climates, what to check before you buy and what makes a successful installation.
“A well-chosen, well-installed heat pump means ten winters of comfort without nasty surprises.”
How did your company get started?
I worked for ten years as a refrigeration technician for a large contractor. I saw too many undersized units struggling in January. In 2011, I started Thermo Exemple with a simple idea: take the time to assess every home before suggesting anything.
What sets the way you work apart?
We don't sell a unit, we solve a comfort problem. Every quote gives the exact model, its capacity at -8 °C and where the outdoor unit will go. The customer knows exactly what they are buying.
What green practices do you apply day to day?
Every refrigerant we remove is recovered and recycled, and old units go to an approved recycler. We also group our appointments by area to cut down on driving.
What advice would you give someone thinking about a heat pump?
Compare at least two written quotes, check the contractor's licence and ask for the heating capacity at -8 °C, not just the nominal rating. That is the number that matters in winter.

What Écodici checked
Before accepting a partner, we check its registration, licences, liability insurance, past work and references by hand. Partners pay a yearly fee; this does not replace your own checks before you sign. Check a contractor before you sign: RBQ licence, CMMTQ and CMEQ
