The companies on this list are unverified partners: Écodici has not checked their file. Each one holds an active licence in the Régie du bâtiment du Québec registry as of October 16, 2026. Their listing is free and unsponsored: it is not a recommendation. Compare at least two written quotes.
At Mont-Joli, Environment Canada's 1991–2020 normals show 5,216 heating degree-days a year, about 22% more than Montreal. January averages -11.3 °C there and -11.0 °C in Rimouski. In other words, your average winter is colder than the -8 °C reference point LogisVert uses, and your heat pump will be running from fall to spring.
What that means: an ENERGY STAR Cold Climate model and backup heating in good working order. Hydro-Québec points out that most air-source heat pumps have a minimum operating temperature, between -15 °C and -25 °C for newer models, below which they stop working. Your baseboards or furnace then take over completely. On January 3, 2014, the Mont-Joli station recorded -34.7 °C.
The whole region is served by Hydro-Québec. LogisVert pays $120 per 1,000 BTU/h at -8 °C for a Cold Climate unit, versus $50 for a model that is only ENERGY STAR certified: for 18,000 BTU/h at -8 °C, that's $2,160 instead of $900. Hydro-Québec's free heat pump for modest-income households is being rolled out in the region, but registration for 2026–2027 is closed. Chauffez vert ended on March 31, 2026, Rénoclimat no longer funds heating systems, and the $2,000 federal rebate announced on October 8, 2026, isn't open yet.
In a region this large, ask each installer who will handle maintenance and what travel will cost. Check the RBQ register to make sure the licence includes subclasses 15.9 or 15.10 (refrigeration) and 15.1, 15.7 or 15.8 (forced air or ventilation), which LogisVert requires, and that the company belongs to the corporation for its trade, such as the CMMTQ or CETAF. Insist on written quotes that state the capacity at -8 °C: that number sets your rebate. Our guide to checking a contractor, our heat pump guide and the calculator will help you compare.

No 15.1, 15.7 or 15.8 subclass on this licence: along with 15.9 or 15.10, Hydro-Québec requires one for a heat pump to qualify for LogisVert. Ask the company how it handles this.

We looked for companies that advertise this service on their own website, then kept only those whose licence is active in the Régie du bâtiment du Québec open data. For heat pumps, the licence must also include a refrigeration subclass (15.9 or 15.10). When a subclass that Hydro-Québec requires for LogisVert is missing (15.1, 15.7 or 15.8 for a heat pump; 11.2 or 13.5, and 16, for solar panels), the listing says so. The service area is the one the company advertises. Nobody paid to be listed here, and no company has been rated: check the licence, insurance and references yourself before you sign. Check a contractor before you sign: RBQ licence, CMMTQ and CMEQ
